"I first heard Eastern
Mediterranean music as a young lad, watching such movies as Topkapi, with
Melina Mercouri and Zorba the Greek, with Anthony Quinn. For Tango
Hellez, we brought in the king of bouzouki, Danny Papakolos, who was playing
at Hollywood's Athenian Gardens! When it comes to today's great talent
of Greek extraction, I'd have to put Danny Papakolos right up there with
George Clooney. Hmmm. I wonder if George plays an instrument
. . ."
